Lewiston is a perfect base for walking, tourist attractions, historical sites, distillery visits and all outdoor pursuits, we are located next to the world famous Loch Ness and in the heart of the Scottish Highlands.  

We have our local pub, cafe, Pizzeria, Chippy, Pharmacy, Petrol Station and Scotmid

Crossroads Cottage is just half a mile from the village of Drumnadrochit, with shops, a post office, cafe, pub, laundrette, gift shops and The Loch Ness Centre and Exhibition. The newly opened Loch Ness Hub is the local Tourist Information Centre, a great source of knowledge and help for the local area and beyond. 

The City of Inverness is 15 miles away with shopping centres, cinema, tours and many other tourist attractions - see the official Inverness website for more information.

Urquhart Castle - one of the top visitor attractions in Scotland - is only 1 mile from Crossroads Cottage.There are also a number of high and low-level circular walks and we are located along the Great Glen Way, the 73-mile long distance path from Fort William to Inverness. Glen Affric is just a half hour drive away, a veritable playground for serious Scottish Mountain walking. Just over an hour east is the Cairngorms National Park, an outdoor entusiasts dream! There are also several hillwalks right outside the cottage's front door - directions can be found in the welcome brochure. 

Crossroads Cottage is just 1 hour north of Fort William - Scotland's western hub for all things recreational. Ben Nevis (the highest mountain in the UK), the incredible Commando Memorial, and don't miss the world-famous Fort William to Mallaig steam train journey of Harry Potter Fame!! From Fort William it is also a short drive to scenic Glencoe and Oban.

Heading west from Crossroads Cottage you find the Isle of Skye, one of the top locations in Scotland to visit, with scenery and landscapes that will take your breath away. 

Heading north-west, you can access the breathtaking wilderness areas to the north such as Plockton, Torridon, Applecross, Gairloch, Poolewe, Ullapool, Lochinver, Kinlochbervie and Durness, these being some of the remotest and unspoilt areas of Europe and boasting some of the finest beaches and hill walking areas in the country.
