Crossroads Cottage

Testimonials

15th - 22nd August 2009 We have had a lovely holiday at Crossroads Cottage. Despite the dreadful weather we have managed to walk most days. After a long days walk, it was lovely to come back to the cottage and relax. We were really impressed by all the kitchen equipment and overall standard of the cottage. All the personal touches made a real difference.

29th August - 5th September 2009 We had a wonderful week at Crossroads Cottage - very restful and relaxing. The cottage is a credit to Alan & Caryn. Heard from a local that it took a year to 'do up'. It is very comfortable and is very well appointed - everything you need and a little bit more.We had a week of typical Scottish weather - warm and sunny one day and then two days of rain. The rain had one positive effect, Divoch Falls up the road past The Loch Ness Inn was in full force - very impressive.A grand day our was had on the Jacobite Railway from Fort William to Mallaig.Great food at Loch Ness Inn, Cobbs at the Clansmann Hotel and Fiddlers in Lewiston. Will recommend the cottage to anyone and we look forward to a return visit sometime.

3rd - 10th October 2009 Fantastic cottage, came up for a late summer break and to run the River Ness 10k race. had a fantastic week, even wet swimming in the sea!Wireless broadband was great as it allowed me to send photos of the cottage to friends & family and make them really jealous!Very comfortable, meal at the Inn across the road was very good and log fire was on almost every night. Will recommend this cottage to everyone!

10th - 17th October 2009 This lovely cottage has everything we needed - in fact we didn't leave it for the first 2 days! Cosy nights in by the log fire was just what we wanted after a hectic wedding.

24th - 27th October 2009 Thank-you so much for our fantastic stay here, this place is amazing! Nessie came for breakfast this morning for hangover food after a night of whisky drinking in the Loch Ness Inn. We will be coming back soon!

London Guests

12th - 19th September 2009 Crossroads Cottage was a wonderful last minute find for us and turned out to be a real home from home, and an ideal base to explore the East and West of Scotland, however there is plenty to do locally that should not be missed e.g. bottlenose dolphins at Chanonry Point, Fortrose - turned out to be the highlight for us (not to mention Nessie and Loch Ness).Weather was fantastic all week so not much chance of cosy romantic nights in - will definitely have to visit again in the winter time!Thank you Alan & Caryn for all the thought you put into this cottage to make it so comfortable for your guests, it has been done to a high standard and all the extra little touches make it very welcoming. Will definitely recommend to others!

Lovely cottage This beautiful little cottage has every thing you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The wine was a nice touch. The large double bed is one of the best I've slept in.The location is perfect for touring the Highlands with the added bonus of a couple of excellent hostelries very close by.Thank you Caryn and Alan for a Great week.

21st - 28th December 2009 Our honeymoon! The cottage is a beautiful little thing, outside and in, and so cosy and warm! It was nice to find the adorable christmas tree and crackers and bottle of fizz that Alan & Caryn left for us. It was wonderful snuggling up on that glorious sofa with a fab meal in front of a log fire.Inverness is less than half an hour drive away and is perfect if you want to do some retail therapy. The drive is also lovely. Great views of the mountains and the Loch, and plenty of places to stop if you want to take pictures.Took a walk to the Loch Ness Exhibition in a foot of snow, drove to the Cairngorm Wildlife Park and walked to Urquhart Castle. We've both enjoyed our stay here greatly and we will most definately be back, but probably in the summer. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable (despite the -16 temperature outside and lots of snow!!).

Number One! - 4th - 11th July 2009 We were very honoured to be the first guests at Crossroads Cottage! We stayed for a week at the start of July 2009 and have nothing but good things to say about the cottage. The quality of the cottage interior is very high, with everything you could possibly need provided – the kitchen is particularly well equipped compared with other cottages we have stayed in.The cottage is in a great location for exploring the Loch Ness area and further afield and provided us with a clean and comfortable home to stay in during our holiday. We would definitely recommend this cottage for other couples looking to visit the Loch Ness area.

5th - 12th December 2009 Wow! They say great things come in small packages, and this house is no exception! You have asked for any comments on how things can be improved but there is nothing! You have thought of everything. Thank you for the wine and welcome note - very nice touch! We've spent the week relaxing and horse riding down at Borlum Farm with Pauline (lovely lady), driven around Loch Ness via Aviemore, Laggan, Spean Bridge etc - lovely route! Eaten beautiful food at Loch Ness Inn and taken full advantage of your log fire. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Nathan & Kev from Suffolk

13th - 20th February 2010 We would like to thank you for an amazing and romantic break in your beautiful little cottage! It had everything we needed, including the wine (thank you very much!).Perfect location to see the sights, even though we did sit in front of the fire for 3 days straight! AND, the comfiest bed we have ever slept in! Would recommend the Loch Ness Inn to future guests and a trip up to the Cairngorms - stunning! Very sad to be leaving, however, will be recommending you to everyone. Thanks again!

26th September - 2nd October 2009 What more is there to say! Totally agree with every comment. We've had a wonderful time here, and will recommend this cottage to our friends. No complaints whatsoever. Thanks for a lovely holiday.

Amazing! We stayed here last autumn, my husband and I plus our two year old, and I still think about our holiday all the time! The cottage was perfect, luxurious and really made our holiday special. The location was perfect too, we had some amazing food and walked it off exploring the breathtaking countryside. I cant find fault with the accommodation, and the cost was most reasonable too. Would thoroughly recommend this to anyone.

11th - 18th July 2009 We've had a fantastic week staying in your romantic little cottage. We didn't see Nessie but we did see lots of beautiful mountains and castles on each of our daytrips around the Highlands and Islands.

Alison & Alasdair from Glasgow

5th - 12th September 2009 Just had a lovely week at Crossroads Cottage, the weather has been absolutely fantastic and the Highlands and Islands (well Skye anyway!) offered the willing traveller some real treats!A day with the 'Whale savers' in Findhorn was really interesting, and the train from Fort Wiliam to Mallaig was a treat.Crossroads has been a wonderful base from which to see both East and West, and the cottage itself has clearly been a real labour of love with some great touches. The guidebooks and DVDs were put to good use!

Mike & Laurien from London

14th - 21st November 2009 We have had a fantastic stay at Crossroads Cottage. We were very impressed with the high standard and luxury feel to the cottage - we do not want to go home! A perfect place to get away from the busy life style, and well worth the long drive. We have relaxed in the cottage every night, enjoying a bottle of wine (or 2!) and a log fire. Would recommend food at the Loch Ness Inn - fantastic food and environment for a holiday treat! The weather has been great for this time of year. Would highly recommend to our friends and family for a cosy, luxury Highland holiday - any time of year. Many thanks for making our holiday so enjoyable.
